EN As a jury member, I had the pleasure of experiencing Petru Iuga at two international double bass competitions (Markneukirchen in 1999 and Bucharest in 2002). Both times he was among the top candidates and won first and third prizes. I listened to his expressive playing with great interest: he played with beautiful tone and nuanced dynamics, and I could sense a high degree of artistic personality in him. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on his teaching qualifications; however, he spent part of his double bass studies in Bucharest with Professor Cheptea at an institute renowned and highly regarded in double bass methodology and pedagogy. I believe that Mr. Iuga possesses excellent qualifications for a professorship at your university. March 22, 2004, Berlin

I consider Petru Iuga one of the great double bass players of the moment. A talented musician with great technique. A refined musician who can express himself at his best in any musical genre. I also really appreciate the way he teach; his students are extremely well-prepared, both musically and technically. It's always a pleasure to listen to his performances. IT Considero Petru Iuga uno dei grandi contrabbassisti del momento. Un talento dotato di una grande tecnica. Musicista raffinato ca face dí esprimerei al meglio anche in un repertorio di ogni genere musicale. Io apprezzo molto anche come insegnereste, i suoi allievi sono preparati al meglio, via musicalmente che tecnicamente. E sempre un piacere ascoltare le sue interpretazioni.
